Santosh elected Pilerne president

Santosh Bandodkar was elected president of Pilerne Sports Club at the recently held elections to the managing committee (2010-12) by secret ballot.
Other members of the managing committee Gregory Estrocio (1st vice-president), Ajay Govekar (2nd vice-president), Survanasingh Rane (secretary), Anthony Correia (treasurer), Sadashiv Kamat and Vijay Malik (sports secretaries), Bonaventura Correia and Sadanand Narvenkar (cultural secretaries), Deepak Malik, Pedro Albuquerque, Gopal Naik, Amrut Hadfadkar, Sayajirao Rane, Sandeep Bandodkar, John Fernandes, Luis D’Souza (members), Eric D’Souza and Atmaram Sawant (auditors), Sanjay Parvatkar, Rajendra Nagvekar, Naresh Shirodkar, Kishore Kalangutkar Dhaneshwar Malik and Deelip Shetgaokar (advisory board).
In all, 145 members attended the meeting, with Deepak Malik group winning the same. In a direct fight for the post of president, Santosh (86) beat Shrikant Malik (57) by 29 votes, with two votes being invalid. The rest of the members were elected unopposed.
The main aim of the new panel is to have an all-round development in cricket, volleyball and other games and indoor games like carrom and others with the helf of the government and the villagers.
