RAIA: Sao Jose de Areal SC defeated Goa Velha SC, 1-0, to move into the quarterfinals of the 2nd Fr Bruno Leitao Memorial Cup 2024, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers and played on Chinchinim Church ground, on Saturday.
Both the teams started an attacking play and both the team defenders held the attacks well to keep a clean sheet till the half time.

In the second half, Goa Velha Sports Club missed a close sitter in the 15th minute. The play was mostly held in the midfield due to heavy rains. In the 25th minute, Leo Gomendes converted a loose ball from the Goa Velha defender to make it 1-0 for Sao Jose de Areal SC.
