DAVORLIM: Hosts Sporting Club of Davorlim defeated St Rock Youth Club, Majorda 3-0 to enter the quarter-finals of the 12th Davorlim Cup football tournament, at Davorlim Panchayat ground, on Sunday.
After a goalless first session, SC Davorlim broke the deadlock through Meclon Colaco’s long ranger in the 37th minute. Agnelo Colaco and Jodrell Gomes scored a goal each.
On Saturday, CAC Cansaulim defeated United Club of Benaulim 1-0 with the all-important goal scored by Agnelo Colaco, who coolly chested down the ball inside the box of United Club of Benaulim and slammed a powerful grounder which crushed into the nets in the 51st minute off an assist by Seby Colaco.
