Sesa FA drub Young Boys of Tonca SC

MAPUSA: Sesa Football Academy had an easy outing as they drubbed Young Boys of Tonca Sports Club (YBT)  by a 4-0 margin in the Goa Professional League organised by GFA, at Duler Stadium, here, on Monday.

Sesa went into the breather with a one goal cushion through a Velrose Dias strike, while Clencio Pinto, Chaitan Dabholkar and Shridharnath Gawas added their names to the scorers list on crossing ends.

A costly defensive error by YBT defender Hemington Fernandes and goalkeeper Earl Fernandes in the very first minute saw Sesa’s Velrose Dias snatch the ball and score, 1-0.

Sesa lads having more of the ball possession time and again attacked the rival citadel but the YBT defence managed to keep Sesa’s strikers at bay.

The best chance for YBT unit came in the 25th minute when a scorching right footer from Harshad Naik was brilliantly blocked by Sesa’s custodian Roanal Gaunkar.

Just two minutes into the second session and Sesa’s Clencio Pinto collecting a through pass from Rajbhar beat the onrushing YBT goalkeeper with an adroit placement 2-0.

Sesa FA carried on their onslaught and had three quick attempts at the rival goal when Aman Rajbhar 30-yard strike kissed the upright and went out while YBT goalkeeper Earl brought two smart saves to block Aman’s strike and minutes later collected a  Saurabh Patil header off a Russell Vaz free kick.

As the hour struck Sesa’s goalkeeper Roanal flung to his left to halt a stinging 25-yard shot from YBT’S substitute Gopi Gad for a corner.

However, in the 63rd minute, Sesa netted their third goal with substitute Chaitan Dabholkar giving finishing touches to Clencio Pinto’s spadework 3-0.

YBT’s substitute Frazer Viegas was caught in the act of tackling Sesa’s Aman Rajbhar inside the danger zone prompting referee Raja Bir to point to the dreaded spot.

Sesa’s Shridharnath Gawas stepped forward and scored 4-0.

Sesa’s Clencio Pinto received the man of the match award from the hands of Derrick Pereria-Technical Director of FC Goa.
