PANJIM: The Goa Football Association is pleased to announce that Sesa Football Academy has been confirmed as Goa’s representative in the upcoming Indian Women’s League.
This marks another strong step for women’s football in the State and adds to Goa’s growing presence across all top tiers of Indian football.
GFA President Caitano Fernandes, who serves on the AIFF League Committee, actively advocated for Goa’s slot in the national women’s competition. His push at the committee level ensured that Goan football continues to have a seat at every major national platform.
With Sesa FA entering the IWL, Goa now has representation in the India Super League, I-League and Indian Women’s League, a milestone achieved during Fernandes’ tenure.
Fernandes said, “I’m proud to see Goa take its rightful place across every top league in the country. Sesa FA’s inclusion in the IWL isn’t just a win for the club it’s a win for women’s football in our State. We’ve worked hard to make sure Goan teams are visible, competitive and part of India’s football structure at the highest levels. This is the direction we intend to keep pushing.”
The Goa Football Association congratulates Sesa FA and looks forward to supporting the team as they step onto the national stage.
