MAPUSA: Sinquerim SC had to wait for the penalty shoot-out as they defeated Xetrapal SC by 8-7 margin to move into quarter-finals of Goveia Cup, at Colvale Church ground, on Tuesday.
Sinquerim SC took the lead in the 5th minute and later doubled the lead in the 19th minute through Arun Paryekar’s brace.
Xetrapal SC came strongly into the second session and not only reduced the margin through Raunak Toraskar but levelled terms in the 47th minute through Ramnath Dabholkar, 2-2.
In the penalty shoot-out, Sinquerim SC emerged winners by 6-5 margin and now face Pilerne SC on December 14, in the quarter-finals.
