PANJIM: A delightful performance from Irineu Moura helped Nazareth Sporting, Siridao thump Mercruz Boys 25-23, 18-25, 25-21 to clinch sixth all-Goa UK Volleyball Rolling Cup for the third consecutive year, organized by Star Boys, Swindon, at County ground, United Kingdom, recently.
A full-house witnessed the final and the teams kept them entertained with close match. Suria, Lenny, Jhonny played well of Siridao while and Beta, Franco, Boyer shined for the runners-up.
The winners were awarded Rs 30,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 20,000.
Molloca, St Thomas, Central Sports, Mix Friends, Vaddy Boys, St Cruz Six, Agassaim Boys were the other teams in fray of the title.
Moura was adjudged Best Player of the tournament while Lavino received the Best lifter prize.
Pittu was declared Best defender and Best disciplined team went to Star of Molloca.
Chief guest Bob and Julie Wright, councillors of Swindon Borough Council urged members to continue the good work and distributed the prizes.
