AMBORA: St. Anna Veterans (Goa Velha) defeated Curtorim Veterans 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rachol veterans football tournament, played at Ambora ground, Camorlim, on Sunday.
St. Anna Veterans scored through Ramesh Palkar’s free-kick in the 4th minute of the match.
Curtorim Veterans dominated well and tried to equalise through James D’Costa, Marthino D’ Souza and Mario Pereira in the 12th, 16th and 20th minute respectively but their moves were thwarted by the St Anna Veterans defenders Francis Rodrigues and Menino Afonso to maintain the lead.
