MAPUSA: Former champions St Anthony SC, Marna, registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Sinquerim SC to storm into the final of Goveia Cup organised by YSC Colvale at Colvale Church ground, on Friday.
St Anthony SC took the lead through Dalesh Pednekar in the 27th minute of play with an excellent flick, 1-0. It did not take long for St Anthony SC to double the lead which came just three minutes later through Kashiram Pomburphekar’s header, 2-0.
On crossing over, Sinquerim SC time and again attacked the rival citadel but their strikers failed to net in.
The player-of-the-match was awarded to Brandon Pereira of Sinquerim SC from Francis Fernandes (former Goa Football Association Vice-President).
