PANJIM: United Club of Nerul got the better of hosts Varca Sports Club 3-1 in the inaugural match of 1st all-Goa late Ciabro Alemao inter-village football tournament, at Varca ground, on Sunday.
Ciabro Alemao was the general secretary of Churchill Brothers SC. The tournament has been organized by Varca Sports Club along with sponsors Churchill Brothers SC.
In the first half Nerul scored two goals through Siddhant Naik and Jennifer Clement.
Varca came back with vengeance in the second session and scored within a minute of the kick-off through their forward Macklin Mascarenhas.
After the goal, Varca gained in confidence and had some promising moves into the rival half but were unable to score. Nerul however sealed the match when they scored their third goal through Sanket Jotkar.
On Monday, Chandor SC will lock horns with Saligao United.
