RAIA: Vasco Veterans prevailed over Pele Veterans, Benaulim, 3-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of 4th Rosary Parish 8-a-side Veterans football tournament organised by Rosary Parish Veterans at Laymati ground, Davorlim, on Thursday.
Both teams played slowly with short passes and control of the game but Vasco Veterans had the upper hand in the match.
Vasco Veterans scored the first goal in the third minute of play through John Fernandes, who placed the ball to right corner of the net from the edge of the box and then Vasco Veterans increased their tally through Augustinho in the 35th minute and Uday Naik in the 45th minute.
Pele Fernandes reduced the margin for Pele Veterans by scoring in the 50th minute.
