PANJIM: Velsao Sports and Cultural Club thrashed Holy Cross SC Arambol 5-0 in the GENO First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA) in association with Jhoncy Restaurant, Benaulim, played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
The Velsao side managed to break the deadlock in the 19th minute through Oilex Oliveira.
In the second half, Oilex Oliveira completed his brace in the 51st minute while later Savio Fernandes added two more goals in the 66th and 72nd minute respectively.
Oilex continued to dominate play as he went on to complete his hat-trick by netting in the teams’ 5th goal in the 75th minute as the Velsao side displayed a five star performance over the struggling Arambol side.
With this win, the Velsao side collected a total of 9 points from their 3 matches having won all their games while the Arambol side are yet to get to winning terms in the league.
