BICHOLIM: Vijayanand Sports Club, Mayem got the better of Simron Sports Club 3-0 in the final of the Mayem Amdar Chashak football tournament, at Kelbaiwada ground, Mayem, here, recently. In all, 46 teams participated. The tournament was organized by Mayem MLA, Anant Shet.
Industries minister, Mahadev Naik; Aldona MLA, Glen Ticlo; GFDC Chairman, Rufin Monteiro were also present.
Simron sports club was runners up. At the tournament held at. The final was held between Vijayanand and Simron SC. Vijayanand SC scored three goals and was declared winners. The goals were scored by Rajat Chopdekar, Suraj Kawthankar and Sachin Mandrekar. The winners were given 20,000 along with trophy and madels. Following individual prizes were also given Taleshwar SC(1st Runners Up); Lairai SC (2nd semi runners up); Universal Maulinguem SC (best fair play); Ajay Maulingkar (Best goal keeper); Rohan Gaonkar (Best defender); Pranav Gaonkar (best striker); Rajat Chopdekar (Man of the Tournament). Besides this prominent members from Mayem were also felicitated.
