Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim routed out Varca Sports Club 5-2 to enter the finals of 3rd Carmo Dias memorial inter-village football tournament, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at church ground, Chinchinim on Saturday.
Wilred led 2-1 at half time.
It was a one-sided affair right from the beginning, with Wilfred boys camping in the rival territory with Agnelo Martins and Roy Colaco excelling at the front.
Wilred drew first blood in the very first minute with Agenlo unleashing a long ranger soon after the kick-off, amazing the Varca goalkeeper Mohammed Shaikh.
Stung by the setback, Varca made couple of umpteen forays into the rival territory and were rewarded in the 12th minute when Columban Noronha levelled the score through a pass by Elvis Fernandes.
Wilred struck again in the 18th minute when Agnelo bulged the net from a close range off a pass from Roy Colaco.
The second half did not bring relief for Varca as Wilred repeatedly attacked from both the flanks.
Wilred did not have to wait for long to score the third goal as striker Agnelo came up with a stunner as he got the better of the rival defender before outfoxing Varca goalkeeper Mohammed Shaikh with a rasping right footer to register his hat-trick in the 45th minute.
Two minutes later, Agnelo struck again to give Wilfred a commanding 4-1 lead.
After a brief lull, Wilred went into the attacking mode and Jessel Carneiro slotted past the rival goalkeeper off a pass from Franky Martins.
Regan Alemao of Varca managed to reduce the margin at the dying minutes.
Mohammed Shaikh who gave a stellar performance under the Varca bar was awarded the man-of-the match prize.
