MAPUSA: Xetrapal Sports Club scored a well deserved 2-0 win over Pilerne Sports Club to advance into the next round of the 10th Reira Cup Soccer, organized by Saligao Sporting Club, at Saligao ground, on Sunday.
Xetrapal broke the deadlock in the seventh minute when Vikash Pednekar on getting hold of a pass from Vipul, made a sharp run into the Pilerne danger zone before firing the ball past the keeper.
In the 25th minute, Xetrapal went up by two goals through Rashik Salgaocar, who placed the ball home from close range.
On resumption of play, Pilerne played their hearts out in an attempt to claw their way back into the match but failed.
