VASCO: Five years past the electricity underground cabling work is still to finish in the Port Town. RTI activist Damodar Divkar from Headland Sada had questioned the authorities in writing regarding the long trailed cabling work pointing out the related danger it might ensue to the children as the cables are left lying open on the roadside.
In May Divkar had written to chief electrical engineer, chief secretary of Goa inquiring why the work was not completed in last five years.

Divkar in his mail asked to take necessary steps in the interest of the general public raising concern that if the electricity cables lay barren by the roadside along with the EB box are live it would turn fatal for kids or animals once they are in close contact, unknowingly.
When contacted, Divkar said that he received an email from the electricity department in which the higher official from the electricity department directed the area in charge to investigate into the complaint and report about the status of the work, pending work and reasons for the delay. As per this mail, few days back a junior engineer and linemen from electricity department inspected some areas from Sada where the underground cabling work was pending. “Engineer only assured to complete the work soon and added that the underground work is ongoing,” Divkar added.
