PANJIM: The Department of Environment and Climate Change on Monday appointed officers in each taluka to check into noise violation complaints.
These officers have been designated as ‘Authority’ for the maintenance of the ambient air quality standards in respect of noise under clause (c) of Rule 2 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation Control / Rules, 2000).

These officials are of the rank of district collectors, deputy collectors, Superintendents of Police (SP), Sub- Divisional Police Officer (SDPOs) and Police inspectors. The department has also released the telephone numbers of these officials.
