Former Mandrem Sarpanch brutally attacked by masked assailants

Around five attackers wearing masks came and asked him if he wanted Michael and beat him

MANDREM:  Former Mandrem Sarpanch Mahesh Konadkar was brutally attacked by unknown individuals in Askawada Mandrem, on Wednesday morning. According to the former Sarpanch, around five attackers wearing masks came and asked him if he wanted Michael and beat him with an iron rod, without allowing him to speak. Calangute MLA Michael Lobo alleged that the attackers were hired for a contract killing.

Complainant Mahesh Sio Janardhan Konadkar, aged 49 Years, is resident of Askawada, Mandrem Pernem. He stated that that five unknown persons who came in a white colour four wheeler car bearing No. GA-11-P-1169, accosed him near Ram Mandir, Askawada, Mandrem between 10.15 am and 10.30 am. Their faces were covered as they were wearing monkey caps.

The complainant Mahesh Konadkar was proceeding to his residence on his Fascino Scooter. The accused wrongfully restrained the complainant by blocking his scooter with their car, abused him in filthy words, assaulted the complainant with clubs and rods causing him bodily injuries and further accused persons also damaged complainants scooter causing him loss.

Mandrem Police have registered a case under Sections 352, 118(1), 126(2), 324 (2) read with 3(5) of BNS- 2023. FIR copies prepared and being to be submitted to JMFC Court Pernem and other concerned superiors.

Further investigation is in progress and police are on the lookout of the accused.
