PANJIM: A 57-year-old man attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of a building in Panjim, but local police and fire personnel were able to save his life.
Police said that the man, hailing from Nepal, had locked himself up in a toilet of the building and was seen holding a broken glass piece in his hand. Citizens then alerted the police and fire personnel of the suicide bid.
“When fire personnel tried to rescue him, he jumped from the fourth floor and got hooked on the roof. He was pulled out and rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital for medical help,” said an official. The police are probing into his personal details and reason for his suicide attempt.
