PANJIM: The State Police Department on Thursday effected transfers of 18 police personnel with immediate effect.

According to an order issued on the recommendation of the Police Establishment Board, PI Prashal P N Dessai, who was on reinstatement at Police Headquarters (PHQ) Panjim, has been transferred to the Crime Branch, Ribandar.
Dessai was suspended in June for alleged dereliction of duty in the controversial Assagao house demolition case. He was reinstated in October at PHQ, Panjim.
In addition to PI Dessai, one PSI, five ASIs, three Head Constables and eight Police Constables have been transferred.
According to the order, ASI Sanjay T Mahale, who was at Vasco Police Station, has been transferred to Traffic Cell Margao, ASI Sandeep S Bhonsle from Mandrem Police Station to GRPC Coy, ASI Ranjan M H Mandrekar from Tiracol Coastal Security Police Station to Mapusa Police Station, Narendra D Salgaonkar from Fatorda PS to Vasco Police Station, Lady ASI Prachita P Faldessai from FRRO, Panjim, to the security branch.
Head Constables Sham S Vengurlekar has been transferred from Traffic Cell, Porvorim, to Traffic Cell, Calangute, Venkatramesh Marshale from EOC, Panjim, to GRP B Coy and Ashok H Gawas from PWCR, Panjim, to Mopa Airport Police Station.
The constables who have been transferred include Prakash V Gaonkar from PHQ, Panjim to Mapusa Police Station, Prakash D Polekar from Mapusa Police Station to Anjuna Police Station, Ajit S Gaonkar from Calangute Police Station to Valpoi Police Station and Amol G Naik from PHQ Panjim to Dabolim Airport Police Station, Hreshwar T Bhittewadkar from Fatorda Police Station to Vasco Police Station, Rahul Maddimani, from Fatorda PS to Verna Police Station, and Raju M Dalvi from Calangute PS to Bicholim Police Station.
Lady Police Constable Varsha S Desai has been transferred from Collem Police Station to Bicholim PS, while PSI(MT-Estt) Mohan Halarnkar from Traffic Cell Ponda to Mopa Airport PS.
