BICHOLIM: A meeting was held at the Deputy Collector’s office, which was attended by Shirgao residents and officials of a mining company. It was decided that the company would get two days time to decide upon the payment of pending water bills of the Shirgao residents.
The locals have been complaining that since the last two years, the company had allegedly not paid their water bills, which forced them to halt mining transportation in the village.
The residents demanded that the company immediately pays the pending bills, following which, they would be allowed to transort ore from the villaeg and failing which, they would continue their agitation.
