28-Year-Old Man Caught With Ganja at Vasco Railway Station, Arrested Under NDPS Act

In a significant drug bust, Vasco Railway Police arrested a 28-year-old man for illegal possession of ganja at Vasco Railway Station on Wednesday evening. The accused, identified as Satyam, son of Surendra Singh and a native of Ismailpur village in Hajipur, Bihar, was residing near the Bedroll Office at Vasco Railway Station.

Acting on specific intelligence, a police team conducted a raid between 6:20 pm and 10:30 pm on Platform No. 1, during which Satyam was caught red-handed in possession of approximately 650 grams of a substance suspected to be ganja. The contraband, consisting of dry greenish leaves, stems, and flowering parts, emitted a strong intoxicating odour and is estimated to be worth around ₹65,000 in the open market.

The operation was carried out by a team led by PSI Krishna Talpi, along with HC Aiyas Shaikh, Nagendra Mesta, and PCs Satish Kothawale and Shivappa Chalwadi, under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi. The arrest was made based on a formal complaint filed by PSI Talpi, and an offence has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act (Crime No. 03/2025).

Police confirmed that the accused was taken into custody at 11:57 pm on the same night. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Krishna Talpi under the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
