PERNEM: The Pernem Police have arrested a Haryana native for allegedly committing theft of USD 2,000 belonging to a Kazakhstan national. The accused has been remanded to five days police custody.
According to Pernem PI Elmira Kulmakhanova (44) Kazakhstan national, presently residing at Pethechawada, Korgao.

Pernem lodged a complaint stating that on December 4 between 12 noon and 2.30 pm, Shubham Joginder Madan committed theft of the USD 2000 from her wardrobe amounting to Rs 1,66,000 approx in Indian currency. The accused first got friendly with the complainant and later taking advantage of the friendship, committed the crime.
