RAIA: Betalbatim Sports Club prevailed over St Rock’s Sports Club, Majorda, 5-2 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of 7th Martin’s Cup football tournament organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club at panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Sunday.
St Rock’s Sports Club scored the first goal in the 15th minute of play through Oscar and were leading 1-0 at half time.
Crossing over, Betalbatim SC enter the field with renewed ideas and Keith Rodrigues scored the equalising goal in the 35th minute of play.
At the end of regulation time, both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Betalbatim SC scored through Joel D’Silva, Aniston, Keith Rodrigues and Gladson and for St Rock SC Oscar netted a goal.
The player-of-the-match awarded to Milton D’Souza.
