MARGAO, AUG 11 Curtorim Gymkhana demolished Navelim Villagers Union 5-0 in the finals of 14th Benaulim Villagers football tournament organised by Dando Boys at Dando ground, Benaulim on Sunday.

Curtorim Gymkhana  demolished  Navelim Villagers Union  5-0  in the finals of 14th  Benaulim  Villagers  football  tournament  organised by Dando Boys  at Dando ground, Benaulim on Sunday. Curtorim Gymkhana led 2-0 at half time.
Agnelo Martins was the hero as he struck thrice for the winners.
Curtorim Gymkhana showed good understanding and played well as a unit. Peter Pereira, Roy Colaco and Agnelo Martins were outstanding.
Their ploy of working together with short, clever passes unsettled their opponents, who failed to settle down and find rhythm. The Navelim Villagers Union plans were thrown out of gear by the rampaging Curtorim Gymkhana attackers.
Curtorim Gymkhana rocked the citadel in the 12th minute when Agnelo Martins beat the rival defenders following a pass from Roy Colaco.
Seven minutes later, Roy doubled the lead when he unleashed a rasping grounder giving no chance to the rival goalkeeper.
Crossing over, Agnelo was the star of the final as he scored a hat-trick to  ensure victory. He connected a Roy Colaco pass soon after resumption and later he scored off a pass from Peter Pereira.
Agnelo Martins rounded off the tally in the dying minutes after he picked up a pass from Roy Colaco.
Curtorim Gymkhana got Rs 15,000 and Navelim Rs 10,000.
 Following individual prizes were awarded: Best goalkeeper John Afonso of Curtorim Gymkhana. Man of the final Roy Colaco of Curtorim Gymkhana.
First goal of the final Agnelo Martins of Curtorim Gymkhna. Best half Sanfred Cardozo of Navelim Villagers Union. Best forward Vikas Dale of Navelim Villagers Union. Promising player Seby Martins of Curtorim Gymkhana.
Valanka Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of  Maria Rebello and Trevor Pinto. Earlier, James Fernandes welcomed. Seby Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
