Religious ceremony of Vasco Saptah ends

The religious ceremony of the Vasco Saptah came to an end with the immersion of Sreefal at Khariwado Beach, Vasco, on Monday.
Damodar Narvekar, whose forefathers were bestowed with the privilege to immerse Sreefal, performed the rituals of immersing Sreefal to mark the end of one-and-half day religious ceremony of Vasco Saptah.
Damodar Narvekar carried the Sreefal, while devotees danced their way to the Vasco beach singing holy songs. Later, the group danced at the main junction near Vasco railway station and later proceeded towards the beach to immerse Sreefal.
At the beach, Damodar Narvekar along with other devotees immersed the Sreefal.
The devotees came out of the water chanting “Gopalkhala Godzala, Gopalane Godkela Amcha Vithoba Gharashi Ala”. Later, a copper tumbler filled with sea water was given as holy water to the faithful.
Later, the devotees chanting “Gopalkala Godzala, Gopalane Godkela, Amcha Vitobha Gharashiala” danced all the way back to the temple.
The Bhajan Mandal was seen singing Bhajans and Kirtans, while the group which went to immerse Sreefal was seen dancing inside the temple amid chanting of hymns and bhajans, followed by arti and distributing of Prasad by breaking last year’s Sreefal.
