MARGAO: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Saturday said that he was not aware of any meeting held by the BJP on leadership change.
Responding to reporters who sought his comments on the discussion that the BJP held on leadership change on Saturday in Panjim, Vijai said “If there is a meeting about leadership change, I am not aware. Let there be a consensus on the person (who would be chosen as the BJP leader) and let them officially tell us that this is the person (that BJP has chosen as its leader). Until then commenting on the change of leadership is hypothetical.” “We have not received any communication from them (BJP) till now on their discussion on leadership change,” Vijai said.
On his commitment to the present coalition government, Vijai said, “At the moment we can’t even think of unseating someone (Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar) who is recuperating from his ailment abroad.”
Countering allegations that the governance is paralysed, Vijai said, “What has happened in Goa after the chief minister left? What government paralysis are they talking about? All operations are running normal and all departments are functioning well.”
“As far as the 22 portfolios that the chief minister holds or the policy decision making is concerned, the CAC is taking decisions in circulation,” Vijai said.
