The rider was proceeding from Old Goa to Carambolim by a bike, and skidded and fell on the road following which an Alto car hit him. The accident took place at 12.45 pm and the deceased died at 2 pm in the GMC while undergoing treatment.
Old Goa police had initially registered the case of accident under the Motor Vehicle Act which was later converted into unnatural death.
Old Goa PI Krishna Sinari said that the case is being investigated as the Alto car’s role in the accident is not established. “We are still examining witnesses. At present as per the statements of witnesses from the Alto car it cannot be established that the car crushed the deceased,” Sinari said.
