Gang impersonating as ACB team arrested

PANJIM: Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of Goa police has arrested a gang of extortionists impersonating ACB officials.
According to the ACB, the accused persons in the month of May had extorted money from two trucks bound for Gujarat, stopping them in late night for checking. The accused persons impersonated to be officials of the ACB and extorted money for release of the trucks.  
The owner approached the ACB for legal action and catching the culprits. ACB registered an offence and a team was deputed under the leadership of SP ACB, Utkrisht Prasoon with PIs Gurudas Kadam and Tukaram Chavan. 
After analysis of technical evidences, a list of suspects was identified. ACB on Thursday caught all 7 persons involved in the extortion. One of the accused persons is a constable posted at Canacona Police Station who at the time of commission of offence was off duty. None of the other accused are police officials. Further investigation in the matter is on.
