Trade union leader Christopher Fonseca has been finalised as the North Goa candidate of the Communist Party of India for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in April.
All India Trade Union Congress Secretary Suhas Naik said Fonseca had been finalised for North Goa and the candidate for South would be announced shortly.
Fonseca, who is also the General Secretary of AITUC and State Secretary CPI, has led several trade union movements over the years in the State. Recently, he succeeded in making the State Government implement the VI Pay Commission recommendations for KTC workers.
The Goa State Council of the party met recently and had decided to contest both the seats.
