PANJIM: A post graduate diploma or degree in town planning and knowledge of town planning laws and civic designs are some of the criteria for the post of Chief Town Planner in the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.
The State government has drafted the Goa Town and Country Planning (Chief Town Planner Qualifications) Rules 2019, which will regulate the recruitment to the post of Chief Town Planner (CTP) Administration, Planning and Land Use.
In a notification, Town and Country Planning secretary Daulat Hawaldar said the person to be appointed to the posts shall possess post graduate degree or diploma in regional or urban or city or town planning from a recognised university.
Ten years experience in a responsible position in Town and Country Planning Department is a must for holding the Chief Town Planner position. The government has also made knowledge of town planning laws and civic design mandatory.
The other desirable requirements include fellowship of the Institute of Town Planning (India) or equivalent membership or any professional institute and degree of diploma in architecture/civil engineering from a recognised university.
