PANJIM: Sebastian Boys Goa Velha defeated Maldini Boys Tonca 2-0 to enter the final of the Anton Joao Memorial seven-a-side football tournament being played at St Agostinho ground, St Cruz.
After playing a goalless half, John and Joseph scored for Sebastian Boys six minutes into the second session. John, who was cautioned by the referee in the first half, cooled his nerves to score 60 seconds into the second half. Joseph buttressed the lead five minutes later.
The tournament is organised by Kraftwork Nite in memory of late Anton Joao Fernandes. Eight teams took part in the tournament.
Sebastian Boys Goa Velha will now meet Valankani Boys Merces in the final on January 26.
Two bands will be in attendance during the final—John & Busca and Les Amigos Paul of Syndicate.
Earlier Valankani Boys Merces had defeated Albert Developers St Ines via the tie-breaker in the first semi-finals.
