PANJIM: David and Yamini emerged champions of the Vasco Sports Club Nautica Goa Beach Run 2014 21 km half marathon in the Men and Women Open category respectively while Prakash and Helena breasted the tape first, in the men and women 10 km run respectively.
India’s First Timed Beach Half – Marathon began along the uninterrupted beach stretch of Salcete beginning from Colva beach, through Utorda, Betalbatim, Majorda and Arrosim, all the way to Velsao and back.
More than 600 runners participated including from Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai and abroad.
Vasco Sports Club organized the race to promote fitness, bringing professionals and locals to merge with a social cause.
