The villagers brought to the notice of the sarpanch that since past few months they have been demanding a joint meeting with IDC officials and the panchayat to discuss their demand for 70 percent job reservation for locals at the local industries. However, the IDC has ignored this demand, they said.

The locals demanded that such a meeting with IDC officials be held immediately and that factories provide a tabular list of employees in their respective units. The locals alleged that majority of the jobs have been grabbed by migrants.

The locals also demanded that IDC clear illegal rooms constructed for housing labourers by some steel manufacturing units at Marcaim.

The locals complained that hundreds of workers are residing illegally in Marcaim Industrial Estate and are using water meant for villagers thereby causing water shortage.
