The petitioner was represented by Adv Abhijit Kamat and government of Goa, Pernem police, Anjuna police and others respondents, were represented by Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni.
The petitioner had filed a contempt petition that despite advance information to police about bullfights, police were not taking action. The petitioner had earlier filed the petition to curb bullfights in the areas after which the High Court of Bombay at Goa had banned the traditional fights.
The petitioner now said that bullfights are arranged at Pernem and Anjuna on Jan 26 and 27. The respondents stated that one case each at Anjuna and Pernem are about to be charge-sheeted and that they take action as and when information is
provided.
The High Court directed the police to take action on the fresh information and adjourned the hearing by two weeks.
