PONDA: Prices of some vegetables continued to remain high in Ponda market, even as transport operations resumed on Wednesday.
Prices of carrots, which had doubled since the last couple of days, remained unchanged while tomato prices rose from Rs 20 to Rs 25. The prices of onions and cabbage were said to be stable.
According to vendors at the Ponda market, the situation will normalise within the next few days.
Meanwhile, meat shops in Ponda market also remained closed due to non-availability of meat.
With operations at Goa Meat Complex temporarily stopped following High Court directives, traders claimed that they are left with no choice.
