PANJIM: Nearly 80 days after it ran aground at Miramar beach, and a little over one month after it was floated in deeper waters for an underwater survey and repairs, casino ship M V Lucky 7 finally sailed for Kochi on Wednesday.
Captain of Ports, James Braganza confirmed the development to Herald stating, “The vessel has moved to Kochi shipyard where it will undergo permanent repairs.”
The exercise began in the afternoon after a final survey by experts.
ensuring that the ship is ‘able to move a long distance without any hassles’. Officials from the Director General of Shipping and the marine surveyors conducted a comprehensive inspection before giving it the green signal. “The vessel will take 2 to 3 days to reach Kochi. It also depends on the speed of the ship,” said an official seeking anonymity.
