CURCHOREM: Agnel Polytechnic, Verna and Government Polytechnic, Panjim clinched Chess and Carrom titles respectively in All-Goa inter-diploma sports-carrom and chess tournament organised by Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Curchorem, recently.
Saish Fondekar, Blaise Vaz and Mahesh Barke of Agnel Polytechnic were crowned winners in boys chess while Avaaru Ramasirisha and Janavi Costa in chess girls category.
Saish Shetye, Aditya Chari, Saidat Jalmi, Ashish Kunkoliekar and Vaibhav Shet of Government Polytechnic were named winners in boys carrom while Sanam Nagvekar and Gauri Devekal were the winners in girls category.
In individual category Ashish Kunkolienkar of Government Polytechnic and Jodie Mendonca of Agnel Institute of Food Craft and Culinary Science, Verna won the title in boys carrom and girls carrom respectively.
Principal of Guardian Angel Polytechnic Fr Joaquim Rebello congratulated and thanked the respective teams for their wonderful performance and urged them to work hard and carry forward their sporting talent so that they can shine at national and international level too.
