MARGAO: Goa Forward Party will open a party office at Cuncolim on October 14. This announcement was made by Party Vice President Durgadas Kamath. “All the office bearers will be present at the opening and the office will provide Seva Kendra for the public,” he said
Kamath informed that the party is currently expanding its base from its three ruling constituencies to other areas such as Mayem, Ponda and also Cuncolim.
“We had a meeting to check if the officers needed help from the party or the party leaders. We did not say anything against the MLA. But of this repercussion, we were attacked. Just because of these allegations we won’t remain behind,” said Kamath.
Under the banner of Citizens of Cuncolim, Aziz Noronha also addressed the media criticizing the local MLA Clafacio Dias. He stated that the people of Chandor wanted the State Highway passing through the village de-notified. “They had approached Yuri Alemao who took them to the TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai and got the highway de-notified. The notice is delayed for some reasons but we are sure that Vijai Sardesai will get it done,” he said.
Noronha said that even the issue of the national highway bypass will be resolved by Vijai Sardesai soon. Noronha also raised the issue of the power supply. “The Cuncolim MLA had given a deadline of three months, but four months have passed now and nothing has happened. The MLA said that he sent the proposals, but the Power Minister Madkaikar said that he has not received any proposal from the Cuncolim MLA,” Noronha said.
Responding to allegations that former Cuncolim MLA Joaquim Alemao had done nothing to solve power issues, Noronha informed that in 2012, Joaquim had promised to lay underground cables in Margao.
