PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is currently being treated at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), is likely to be discharged in the next one or two days.
Parrikar, who is suffering from pancreatitis, was admitted in GMC late Sunday evening for dehydration.
“Chief Minister continues to be treated at GMC but his condition is stable and fine. He has also recovered from dehydration and the health is improving speedily,” Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant told the media.
Sawant, who met Parrikar on Monday evening, said doctors have kept the Chief Minister under observation and he is likely to be discharged in the next one or two days. “As per my communication with doctors, Chief Minister was supposed to be discharged today (Tuesday). However, he will be kept under observation for now,” he said.
“Post discharge, Chief Minister said he will resume work from home for a few days,” Speaker added.
A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said he will be discharged on Wednesday.
Parrikar was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 15 but was discharged on February 22, the day when he presented Budget in the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to the media after meeting Parrikar, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said, “The fears and rumors that are spread about CM’s health are unfounded. He is fresh and recovering. He is much better now.”
