Moments after Rosy Pais was elected unopposed on Monday, residents of Curtorim approached her and called for urgent action on the hotel project. Rosy later told the media that she would place the memorandum before the panchayat body for appropriate decision.
The residents submitted a memorandum to the new sarpanch urging her to write a letter to the PWD revoking the request made for the road widening and land acquisition at Vetnem, which they said was without proper resolution and was against the wishes and interests of the residents.
The residents also urged the new sarpanch to file an appeal in the District Court against the orders of the Additional Director of Panchayats in the case of Talak Homes and Real Estate versus Curtorim VP within 30 days.
