Miscreants on Wednesday night damaged a canal of the Tillari Irrigation Project at Aganwadi-Ibrampur, causing a loss of Rs 25,000.
The site engineer, A K Abraham, has lodged a police complaint in this connection.
Pernem police is investigating the case.
Cashew nut bags stolen: About eight bags of unprocessed cashew nuts worth Rs 31,000 have been reported stolen from the yard of the Goa Bagyatdar society at Pernem on Thursday night.
The yard manager, Rajesh Chanderkar, informed police that the burglars broke open the shutters of the yard and stole 800 kgs of unprocessed cashew nuts.
Pernem PI Uttam Raut Dessai is investigating the case.
