CHANDRAWADDO-FATORDA: Vasco Veterans edged past Nuvem Veterans 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Fatorda Veterans football tournament, at DBO ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Monday.
Vasco’s Derrick Pereira was in thick of action with his dribbling, passes and guided the team through-out the match to net the first goal of the match with a clinical finish in the eighth minute.
Ten minutes later, Derick sent in a long ball to Vasco’s Seby who was prowling into Nuvem box.
Seby at once took control of the ball and released and arrow bound shot which crushed into the Nuvem net.
As the match progressed in the second half, Nuvem through Remy pulled a goal back in the 49th minute.
Vasco Veterans will now meet the winners of Curtorim Veterans and Quepem Veterans in the quarter- finals on March 16.
