GOA VELHA: Ambelim Sports Club registered a comfortable 3-0 win over St Anthony’s SC Marna in the 14th London Trophy, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club, at Goa Velha ground, on Monday.
The Marna side played short passes while Ambelim relied on long ball game plan. However, the team from the south finally broke the deadlock in the 13th minute through Senson Fernandes’ strike which was enough to give them a goal lead at the break.
In the second half, St Anthony’s SC dominated the initial minutes of play but were soon on the back foot when Arvind Fernandes doubled the account in the 52nd minute.
Ambelim’s Princson was instrumental in the second goal as he initiated the move from his own territory before setting up Arvind to score.
Once up by two goals, Ambelim SC enjoyed possession and created more chances in the game. Their efforts bore fruits in the 70th minute when Stendly assisted Arvind for his second as Ambelim SC scored 3-0 win over the Marna side.
