PANJIM: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) General Secretary Goa Desk In-Charge Praful Patel on Thursday said that the party will wait for next 10 to 15 days for the Congress to hold discussions on pre-poll alliance in the upcoming Goa Assembly elections and disclosed that there has been an informal talk between the leaders of two parties.“We are talking in large interest of alliance. If they (Congress) come with reasonable formula then it will be beneficial for both the parties,” said Patel, who arrived in Goa to review the party’s preparedness for the ensuing elections.

“We have indicated to them (Congress) clearly to come with a reasonable formula for pre-poll alliance within next 10 to 15 days and complete discussions so that every party has few months to prepare in the given constituencies and stand a better chance of success,” he said.
“We are not willing to wait for long this time,” he said adding that he also held talks with Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai and that he told him that like-minded parties should come together as soon as possible in the interest of politics of Goa.
“No party is helpless and neither is the NCP helpless. We only want clarity so that in the case if there is any other problem we can move forward and make our preparations fast and effectively.”
