QUEPEM: Vasco Veterans beat Curtorim Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the finals of the Quepem Veterans football tournament, played at Quepem Sports Complex, on Tuesday.
It was Fr George who had the first best chance for Vasco in the tenth minute but he failed to covert his curler. Curtorim’s Seby was denied by the Vasco cross bar in the 19th minute.
Vasco’s Vishant and Sheikh missed a chance each to score in the 23rd and 26th minute.
With few minutes left before the final whistle, Curtorim’s Endro’s header hit the rival post and went out of play.
In the resultant tie-breaker Vasco Veterans netted through Vishant, Sheikh Nazi, Joaquim, Andrew and Fr George while Egith, Oliver, Endro and Seby scored for Curtorim.
