MAPUSA: The talukas of Bardez and Bicholim received restricted water supply on Saturday and Sunday due to frequent power failures at the Assonora Water Treatment Plant.
When contacted, PWD Executive Engineer, V M Chavan informed Herald that there was some electrical fault at the sub-station supplying power to the Assonora plant.
“On Friday, thunder and lightning affected some cables and hence there was a power failure. On Saturday, on account of a power shut down, there was no electricity supply to the Assonora plant and as such there was restricted water supply to the people of Bardez and Bicholim talukas,” he added.
He said that the water supply to both the talukas will be restored on Monday.
