PERNEM: In a swift action Pernem Police on Thursday busted a gang of duo involved in mobile snatching and arrested alleged accused Sudip Kanhapa Haweri and Siraj Husensab Motebenur (both 19), natives of Nagendramati-Haveri, Karnataka.
According to Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, on July 17, a series of mobile snatching incidents were reported across the State wherein the two motorcyclists had snatched mobile handsets.

Intensive technical surveillance and local intelligence was activated which helped in identification both the accused and the motorbike. Accordingly, a team rounded up both the accused from Haveri Police Station. During the course of investigation, the police successfully recovered the mobile of the complainant and also recovered two more mobiles.
The police also seized one Bajaj NS motorcycle which was used to commit the crimes.
