CALANGUTE: Saligao Sporting Club defeated United Club of Nerul 2-1 to move into quarter-finals of Aasiana Lakhanpal Gold Cup Inter Village football tournament at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro Stadium, Candolim, on Tuesday.
Velismo Miranda gave Saligao ahead in the 25th minute of play following a good move by Ajay Diwadkar.
Saligao doubled the lead within minutes through Ajay Diwadker.
Nerul pulled one back in the second half with Nevel Crasto finding the net.
