PANJIM: The government Wednesday issued an order transferring North Goa Superintendent of police, Vijay Singh as SP traffic. He has been replaced by present SP traffic, Vishram Borkar. Borkar will also hold charge of Tourist Police, PCR and will also be deputy Commandant.
The police department also announced promotions of 655 constables while it regularized 426 ad-hoc HCs.
In addition, 229 constables have been newly promoted to the rank of HC on regular basis.
The State Government had recently created 251 HC posts as also first reported by Herald last week. Two months ago department had promoted 177 head constables (HC) to the rank of assistant sub inspectors.
